    • Obituary: Caroling Bendorf Broker: 1868-1938 Mrs. Caroline Bendorf Broker, the daughter of Albert and Margaret Bendorf, was born near Louisburg, Kansas, May 2, 1868. She was united in marriage to Jacob Broker, February 11, 1890, four children , all surviving her, Albert Broker, of Drexel; Clara, wife of E.C. Robinson, Jr. of Hume, Mo., Bertha, wife of Frank Wilson of Louisburg, Kansas and Mary, wife of Loren Brown, of Cleverland, Mo. The following are the grandchildren, who have a loving remembrance of her life; Robert, Wallace and Mildred Broker, Junior and Helen Robinson, Clarabelle and David Wilson and L.T. Brown. Five brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Two are living, Jacob Bendorf, near Louisburg, and Albert Bendorf, of Paola. One sister is living, Mrs. Guy Horchem of Ranson, Kas. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Broker spent all of her early life in the community near Louisburg, Kas., her childhood home. Mother Broker was a loving mother, a good neighbor, and a true hearted Christian. She had not been able to attend church for sometime on account of failing health, but her interest and prayers were ever in its interest. She bravely and lovingly bore her burden, never complaining, always revealing the Christian faith. She was converted about forty years ago in a revival meeting at the Freeman Baptist Church, was a member of that church for some time and at the time of her departure, was a faithful and loyal member of the Drexel Baptist Church. Mother Broker departed this life to be with her savior, and to enjoy the richer and fuller life in Christ, on the evening of November 29, 1938, at her home in Drexel. She lived to be 70 years, 6 months, and 27 days old. Sister Broker leaves her family, a number of relatives and a large group of sympathetic friends and neighbors who shall remember her. All those who were acquainted with Mrs. Broker found a true friend, and a kind neighbor. Her life was lived earnestly and sincerely. Her religion was deeply from her heart. She had departed, but she is not dead, in the true Christian sense of thinking. The Apostle John in the Book of Revelations said "I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them". Rev. 14:13: Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church this afternoon at 3:30, conducted by the Rev. James H. Houston, pastor, and assisted by Elder H.A. Pfost, J.B. Hays funeral director. Burial in Louisburg, Kas., Cemetery.

Obituary: Ora F. Weaver: Ora F. Weaver died at his home in Wagstaff shortly before 1 o'clock the morning of Friday Nov.29. Mr. Weaver had been ill less two hours, acute indigestion the cause of his death. He had appeared in his usual health and had spent part of Thanksgiving Day with his family visiting relatives. At about 11o'clock Thursday night he became violently ill and medical aid was of no avail. Friday there was deep sorrow among the large circle of friends Mr. Weaver made during his life in Miami County because this good man was called while in the prime of manhood. There is the sincerest sympathy on every hand for the wife, young son, brothers and sisters. Ora Franklin Weaver, son of the late Martin and Sarah Weaver, was born in Marysville Township July 17 B 1881, so at the time of his death he was 48 years, 4 months and 12 days old. He was married to Jessie Violet Bendorf Feb. 14, 1923, and they located at the present home. To Mr. and Mrs. Weaver were born two sons, Martin Franklin, who died Dec.24, 1926, at the age of one year, 3 months and 14 days, and Robert Oran, who was born May 6, 1928. Mr. Weaver leaves to mourn him the wife, the little son, three brothers and two sisters. Alta W. Weaver, Calvin D. Weaver, Ada G., wife of Charles Keeton, and Minnie M., wife of Frank Barkis, all of the Wagstaff community; and Abner M. Weaver of Blance, Colo. Abner Weaver had been here visiting two weeks and had left Tuesday of last week for his home, stopping at Wichita for a few days. When he received the message telling of the death of his brother he was unable to return to Miami County as he was ill with the flu. Ora Weaver was one of the sturdy farmers of Miami County. He was a splendid man--square and industrious. As a neighbor he was held in high esteem. In his family he always proved a kind and considerate husband, father, son and brother. Mr. Weaver had retired from active life as a farmer and was serving his second term as trustee of Ten Mile Township. He made an excellent official, being capable and painstaking. The county loses much because this good man has left us. Funeral services were held in the Wagstaff Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon at o'clock, conducted by Rev. Mr. Teener. Burial was in the Hillsdale Cemetery.
